Power Name

Characters

Below are examples of how the combination of Power category, technology, and gateway work together to guide the particular manifestation of a Power. Each is given a name based on the combination it represents. Work with the GM to come up with a fitting name for how your Power manifests if you have trouble coming up with one.

These examples are non-exhaustive: Creativity has free reign to play within the confines of the chosen aspects of the Power. Though Ice Blast is listed below as Memory of the Sea and Infused Ethertech, the same combination could be called “Frost Strike”, “Water Whip”, or “Undine’s Tail”. Switching it to a Power integrated into an item (Ethertech or Solartech) could make it a “Blizzard Generator” or “Ice Dart Bandolier”. Though these Powers share the same category (Memory of the Sea), the different flavors help your character stand out from others and helps to guide creating unique stunts for the Power as it gets stronger.

Suppose that a PC wants to create lightning bolts from their fingertips as a Power. They would likely choose Memory of Light as the category. Since they imagine that this will be an infused Power (not dependent on using an item), it will have to be Ethertech. This limits the choice to Memory of Light, Infused Ethertech. They call it Etheric Energy Bolts. Alternatively, they may have imagined the Power as Solartech-powered gloves, in which case it would have been Memory of Light, Solartech Item. Such a Power could be called Lightning Gauntlets.
