Rules Lite

Optional Rules

For those that would like to simplify Relics of the Moon to the core of the DTGS, a few quick adjustments can be made. This is intended for one-shots or other short-term play, or those that desire less complexity. This mostly comes in the form of collapsing trait groups into a uniform modifier, or removing mechanics from traits to make them pure narrative flavor. The end result is closer to many narrative TTRPGs rather than one with crunchy mechanics.

Characters

Expertise

Expertise remains the same.

Bioform

All Bioform traits with Beneficial(+) modifiers for the Cohort turn give a A5 / 1d when activated instead of their listed modifiers. Traits that give modifiers on the Challenge turn still apply their usual modifiers (usually Simple Hindering(-)).

For example, a Mantid character would receive A5 / 1d anytime Powerful Leap or Multiple Limbs are activated instead of their usual modifiers. Adaptive Exoskeleton still gives its Simple Hindering(-) modifier on the Challenge turn.

Background

All Background traits give A6 / 1d when activated.
