The Sky
Surrounding Anasta are the remnants of the original Moon that serve as an ever-present reminder of the past. Crystal dust and smaller fragments have formed the Glittering Ring which scintillates day and night. Floating in the center of the ring is the largest intact section of what remains of the broken Moon, called the Moonstone. Two other large fragments of the Moon remain in orbit as well. Nearly opposite the Moonstone in orbit but not nearly as large, the Twins have sparked many tales of their own through the millennia.
The Crystal Ceiling
Many dream of traveling to the Moonstone or the Twins. There are legends of some doing so, yet no one in living memory has ever proved they have made such a journey. Covering all of Anasta approximately 1000 meters above sea level is an unseen field. All Ethertech and Solartech that come into contact with this field cease to function and Moonshards become inert. Everyone who has dared to approach the Ring find themselves falling from the sky, often meeting their demise upon impact. However, some of the tech that has touched this “Crystal Ceiling” may begin working again within a few hours. Indeed, a rare contemporary Moonfall occasionally passes through the Crystal Ceiling and can contain active Moonshards, proving that the nullifying effect is temporary. What the nature of the Crystal Ceiling is and how to overcome it is a constant debate among the educated and unschooled alike.
