Golden Plains

The Golden Plains are named for open spaces and rolling hills covered in long, swaying grasses colored yellow, pale green, and metallic gold. Scattered stands of vibrant trees dot the landscape. The Sky River slowly winds its way from the Azure Mountains to the Est Sea, and its shores attract abundant wildlife. Where the river meets the sea is the wonder of Helis, City of the Sun.

Helis, City of the Sun

In the east of Anasta, nothing compares to the City of the Sun. The Grand Ziggurat and Hanging Gardens of Helis are the wonder of the New World, the highest achievement of architecture and technology since before the Moonfall. The stepped pyramid rises 200 meters above the city and can be seen from kilometers away. The terraces of each step flow with artificial streams and waterfalls that feed lush flowers, vines, and other vibrant vegetation. Gold plating and filigree accents highlight frescos and walkways. At night, the sight is perhaps even more impressive, as the warm glow of Solartech lighting creates a beacon inviting all to draw near.

The Ziggurat is the center of political and religious life in Helis. During the daylight hours, one may find lively philosophical debate and discussions of Solartech innovation between members of the Order of the Sun. Six main streets radiate like rays of the sun from the Ziggurat, and the city itself is laid out in six concentric circles that intersect these streets. The most central circle is the Circle of Light and is made up of the laboratories and workshops of the best minds and hands of Solartech in Anasta. The outermost circle is the Circle of Trade, where nearly all markets in Helis are found.
