The Sisters of the Deep

The Sisters of the Deep are a matriarchal order that predates the Moonfall. Nearly all members are Naga, and few Naga are not connected to the Sisters in some way. Occasionally another bioform will be accepted into the Sisters after extensive testing, but this happens only once every few generations. The Sisters believe the Dragon of the Sea sent them visions of the Moonfall which—when acted upon—spared them from much of the fallout of the catastrophe. They are throughly dedicated to the Deep Dragon, whom they recognize as their savior.

The Sisters’ ancient Psience has a unique character, and few who were not born Naga understand it. Before using an Archon Moonshard, Sisters will first “sanctify” it with the Blessing from the Deep, and then apply modifications from their own Psience. Without doing so, they will often refuse to use Moonshards or Archon Ethertech, keeping with their own.

The caves and grottos of Darkshore have been the ancestral home of the Sisters since before the Moonfall.

Relationship to the other factions

Wilders, Generation of Chaos, Peacekeepers

The Sisters are neutral—even apathetic—to the Wilders, the Generation, and the Peacekeepers.

Chantry and Guild

Those Sisters that are interested in recovering Archon Ethertech sometimes seek out the services of the Guild. When researching found Archon Ethertech or developing new Naga Ethertech, they occasionally seek the help of the Chantry and their unique gift.

Order of the Sun

The Sisters respect the dedication and piety of the members of the Order. While they see some kinship with the Order Progressives, they are wary of the anti-Ethertech extremism of most Puritans. The Sisters’ perspective is not shared by the Order, however. Most Order Progressives treat the Sisters with disdain, and small groups of Puritans have hunted down and executed Naga.

Moon Wardens and Cursed

The legacy of the Archons is nowhere stronger than in the Children of the Moon and Moonblooded. Those who embrace this legacy embrace the Old Ways. Some of the Sisters have made alliances with Wardens and Cursed; others attempt to use them to their own ends.
