The Peacekeepers

During the Age of Darkness, one of the most influential cultures to arise was the Kingdom of Banners. Their bright ivory flags emblazoned with three blue triangles flew in multitudes over and around every city, town, and encampment in the kingdom. These banners welcomed any and all who sought order and peace in a world of warfare and chaos. Every member of Banner society was trained in some military vocation, making it the greatest standing army in Erebos at the time. It was the Banners who won the day in the Battle of Shinshar.

Though they were renowned as great warriors, after Shinshar the Banners saw themselves as the peacekeepers of the world rather than its conquerors. In time, like all great societies, its structures of power crumbled and its peoples assimilated into other peoples. However, the core values from the height of the Banner Kingdom were kept by some, and its culture lived on. These descendants are the Peacekeepers, a paramilitary force who see themselves as the self-appointed protectors of order throughout Anasta.

The Peacekeepers do not call any particular city home, as many of the other factions do. One may find Peacekeepers in nearly all settlements, their encampments quite easy to find with their dozens of ivory banners waving in the wind. It is not uncommon for even very small settlements of a few families to have a Peacekeeper among them. Peacekeepers count all bioforms amongst their ranks and welcome any who would follow their Creed.

Relationship to the other factions

The Generation of Chaos

The Generation are antithetical to the Peacekeepers. Members of both factions will often become immediately aggressive with the other.

The Chantry, the Guild, and the Order of the Sun

Peacekeepers can usually find work as guards and police/patrol for these factions, and are on generally good relations with them.

The Cursed, the Sisters of the Deep, the Wilders

These factions are generally neutral toward the Peacekeepers, and vice versa as long as their members are not creating chaos.

The Moon Wardens

The Peacekeepers highly respect the Moon Wardens and have rarely come into conflict with them. Individual Peacekeepers have been known to ally with the Wardens to help protect certain ancient sites.
