The Moon Wardens

The Children of the Moon were created by the Archons as guardians and protectors of their Crystal City and outposts. Their keen senses, strength, and speed made them well-suited to this task. Above all other qualities, however, was their unswerving dedication to the Archons they were imparted through Psience.

When the Archons were destroyed in the Moonfall, nearly all of the surviving Children of the Moon kept to their posts awaiting the Archons’ return. Now, millenia later, some still keep their ancient charge and patrol the Archon outposts and larger sections of the Moonfall. These are the Moon Wardens. The Wardens are organized into militaristic packs ranging from a few Children to several dozen. Outside their packs, they recognize no authority other than the Archons themselves.

The highest concentration of Moon Wardens is found in the Silver Crescent, the site of the ancient city of the Moon when it was still on the Land. However, there are several packs that rove the world in search of other Archon sites and Moonblooded to protect and serve.

Relationship to the other factions

The Cursed

The Wardens maintain their best relations with the Cursed. Many Wardens who are not tied to specific Archon sites find themselves protecting individual Moonblooded or groups of Cursed.

The Peacekeepers

The Peacekeepers’ admiration for the Wardens is well-known, and some Wardens use this to their advantage. Peacekeepers rarely overstep the boundaries set by the Wardens on sacred sites, and often help to enforce them to outsiders.

Other Factions

As most Wardens patrol the Silver Crescent, few have contact with any except those seeking to steal Moonshards. Those Wardens that leave the Crescent are generally searching for other Archon outposts or large sections of Moonfall to protect, or protecting Moonblooded. They have little interest in the philosophies of the other factions and only see those who do or do not recognize the sanctity of the Archons and keeping their artifacts and bloodlines intact.
